Sikh Legal Assistance Board, assisted with the bail application of Juvenile Amritpal Singh at the Juvenile Justice Board at Taran Taran. The Judge pronounced his order dismissing the bail, despite accepting the application should be considered under the Juvenile Justice Act and the gravity of offence is relevant but it cannot be the decisive factor to dismiss the bail application. The Judge is required to consider other factors and circumstances of the case. Despite Amritpal Singh being incarcerated as a juvenile for the past 10 months, the Judge found it to be in the best interests of the juvenile not to be released on bail as there is a likelihood to expose him to physical/psychological danger therefore it shall defeat the ends of justice.

With the Grace of the Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and support of the Sangat, we are pleased to advise Juvenile Amritpal Singh in the case of the Pandori Gola Blast has been granted bail by Additional Session Judge in Taran Taran. Further information will follow shortly and within the coming days, Amritpal will be released.
