Police had arrested Bhai Maan Singh Nihang in May 2017 under the allegations for conspiring to kill the culprits who disrespected Guru Granth Sahib Ji and for keeping illegal weapons. There is also another case registered against Bhai sahib for attacking another prisoner who had disrespected Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Then the following year Bhai Sahib's name has also been added in another case where he is accused of being involved in the ordering of illegal weapons via a drone.

Maan Singh Nihang, Sher Singh, Balwinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Simarjeet Singh, Balkar Singh (6 in jail) and Satinder Rawat (on bail) have all been acquitted under the UAP Act offences. Maan Singh Nihang, Sher Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Simarjit Singh have been declared guilty under the Arms Act only and will be sentenced on 28 October 2020.

Maan Singh Nihang and Sher Singh have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and 50,000 rupees fine, Gurpreet Singh and Simarjit Singh have been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and 10,000 rupees fine under the Arms Act.
